Today's music

I'm pleased to announce that the reassembled Beaker West Gallery Band have got themselves ready to be able to lead us in worship this morning for the first time since our interlude.

Gwladys will be playing zither, Orca will be on cowbells and Ardwulf on ocarina.  Oskar will be bashing a piece of corrugated iron with a rubber mallet. He's not technically in the music group - it's more of a hobby. But let's make the most of it.

Meanwhile Kayleigh and Kylie, our two new Beaker People from Frisby on Soar in Leicestershire, will be singing. It would appear that they've followed Drayton down here, regarding him as some kind of prophet. I'm not saying he's totally over the moon about this, but apparently it's really annoying his wife Marjorie, so he's putting up with it.

During the traditional Beaker Tibetan Nose Flute solo (halfway through "Abide with me"), please can all Beaker People adopt a reverent posture and gaze into the middle distance as though you're thinking spiritual thoughts. I know you're really just wishing it would stop, but come on guys - Ada's one of the few Beaker Tibetan Nose Flautists in the country, and she reckons just as soon as they introduce exams she'll be a cert for a Grade 1.
