Stress

Stress can be a terrible thing. If unmanaged it can have physical and spiritual effects. It can cause relationship breakdown and it has knock-on effects on others.

There are many ways to deal with stress, some of which are medical and others simple self-help. Prayer and meditation, lighting a tea light, playing or listening to music, going for long walks or undertaking other exercise are all self-help ways of relieving or removing stress. For more serious cases it is a good idea to talk to a doctor - while in the end the best way of resolving stress can often be to remove the situation that is causing the stress in the first place.

Resorting to self-medication with alcohol or other mood-altering substances (I except lavender from this) is not a good idea.

Also, if you are feeling stressed, it is a bad idea to torch your neighbour's hedge with a flame thrower, pour glyphosate on on his lawn, make a full-sized image of him and then jump up and down on it while screaming "I hate you, you priggish loser."

I would like to apologise to Drayton. I may have slightly over-reacted to him saying "good evening, Eileen". I hope the hedge grows back soon.

  1. You could always try a little glyphosate in Drayton's morning beaker of mead.
    Should relieve your stress nicely.
Won't do a lot for him!

  2. Poisoning people, with glyphosate or otherwise, is *always* wrong.

  3. I used to feel like doing something like this in the days before I saw the light.

I find that sticking pins in dolls works just as well.
