Eurovision Service

It's a big day for watching the telly in the Community today. Some would launch a tirade of invective against the idiot-box given a diet of the FA Cup Final, Doctor Who and the Eurovision Song Contest. But as ever I'm taking the view that it's better to join them than beat them, that sugar attracts more flies than vinegar, that compromise is better than confrontation, and that we don't like to upset people.

So this evening's order of service consists of Beaker People singing the greatest Eurovision hits from the country of their choice. We've got:

Beaker Person Country  Song
Eileen United Kingdom Puppet on a string
Hnaef Sweden Waterfloo
Burton Dasset Netherlands Bing a bong
Drayton Parslow Israel Hallelujah
Young Keith Sweden Diggi-Loo diggi-ley
Mrs Hnaef Spain La La La
Marston Moretaine Ireland My Lovely Horse

"Congratulations" has been banned in case the so-called "Sir" Alex Ferguson thinks we're referring to him.
But the winner is...
And in case you're wondering what any of this has to do with an act of worship, you're missing the amount of thanksgiving there's going to be when it's all over.
