John Hooper (1555)

The first Protestant Bishop (although not the first Martyr) to suffer in the Marian persecution. Bishop of Gloucester. Yet he does not, as far as I understand, merit even a commemoration from the good old C of E*.

Perhaps because he wasn't a Cambridge man?

  1. I nominate the gentle Thomas Bilney and John Frith advocate of adiaphorism as additions to the list of ought-to- be saints.
The martyrs of moderation should be celebrated.
