Beware the Odes of March

The Ides of March

Julius Caesar
must have been an East-end geezer.
Cos every year he went
and took a holiday in Kent.

On Liturgy

A tea light brightens up the church
Pebbles won't leave you in the lurch.
But if to read God's Words you dare,
You're better off with Morning Prayer.

On Ecclesiastical Ambition

To become a cardinal
is rather hard 'n' all
Being a vicar
Is much, much quicker.

David Croft

The better works of David Croft
are on the television oft.
But it's hard to savour
"Grace and Favour".

  1. Beware the march of the ides. They're related to orcs.

  2. There once was a blogger called G
Who dreamed he had his own see
    He was the parson
    Of Beaker Folk with sarsen
And was much more poetic than me

  3. Gone Bats

A kebab shop run by a Bengali
    Was opened in Husborne Crawley
    The Belfry was cleared
    The bats disappeard
So did the Bengali from Husborne Crawley

  4. Birdsong

    I saw a robin in a tree
He sang as he looked down on me
Oh what great fools those mortals be
    Who dare prefer the chickadee
    To me.
