Currency Speculation

Some people from the Island of Cyprus came to him, and said, "Tell us, is it right that we should pay our bank balances to the EU?"

And he said to them, "Bring me a Euro Note. Tell me, whose image is on it, and whose inscription?

And they answered, "Angela Merkel's".

  1. And he said unto them: Render unto Germany that which is German, and unto Russia that which has been nicely laundered. O and if there's anything with God's name on it, I'm sure you'll find a use for that too.

  2. Is it a coincidence that it is the EU countries which St Paul visited that have had to be bailed out? Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain maybe. Only Malta to go, by my reckoning, and Paul didn't mean to go there. Then Ireland was also bailed out, so there must be truth in the legend I have just dreamed up that Paul went there as well.
