A Poem on John Donne's Day (1631)

There once was a poet called Donne
Whose rhyming was always spot-onne.

  1. Ask not for whom the bell tolls,
    It tolls for thee.

Especially when you are in the bath.

  2. ...Someone, feeling quite bold
Asked: "For whom's this bell tolled?"
He replied: "Your name's on it, my sonne."

  3. ...He announced with a smile
That no man was an isle,
Except for the old Isle of Monne.

    (That's enough dodgy rhymes...)
