The Correct Way to Address a Minister

After all the excitement over the right thing to call God, we have a new hot-button topic. What do you call a minister? Is it "Revd James Jones"; "Rev Jane Jones"; "Revd James";"The Rev Jones?"; "The Revd Joanie Jones"?

The answer is obvious. We should all call ministers "Father". Whether they're male or female. Just like God.

  1. It didn't half confuse my newly ordained female curate when someone called her 'Father Jane' when we did a funeral visit together, and again later when she met them in the street.

  2. His reverence isn't going to like this.

  3. Just call them all Canon because that's the designation that doesn't need a name or gender to be attached.
