A Hint of Death in the Morning Air

To celebrate the appointment of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, we are proud to announce that our friend Melissa Sparrow (Mrs) from the Trim Valley has released her debut book of poems, "A Hint of Death in the Morning Air" on Kindle.

Now at an introductory price of a quid, what have you got to lose? 97 poems of doom, despair and the love of nature. With passing references to religion, science, the end of the Universe and those name plates they put on benches in country park. Mostly just ending in tragedy, but occasionally some real hope and insight.

And it supports this blog. And that's got to be a good thing hasn't it?

Go on, give us a quid....

And also...

Want to support this blog?
Want a good laugh? Want to laugh at the church? Want to be secretly suspicious that the author has been sitting in your church committee meetings taking notes? Then Writes of the Church: Gripes and grumbles of people in the pews is probably the book for you.

From Amazon, Sarum Bookshop, The Bible Readers Fellowship and other good Christian bookshops. An excellent book for your churchgoing friends, relatives or vicar. By the creator of the Beaker Folk.

  1. I was thinking that the new cabinet following the "Night of the Long Knives" should be renamed as "Night of the Blunt Knives". I note that Mr Gove, despite knifing Boris in the back in the last Tory leadership election has been given the Job commonly described as "Minister without Portfolio" in other words someone to kick around, to blame when things go wrong and to sack as soon as possible.

  2. And, as Mrs Sparrow so eloquently reminds us (repeatedly), whether the knives be long, short, sharp or blunt, the day will end with death, death, death ...
