Advent Calendar 23 - Rollrights

As Beaker in origin as their counterparts in the south, and yet so much more... well, so much more South Midlands.  The Rollrights, gentle, yet very eerie in the early light of an All Hallows Eve.  Which this wasn't.

Advent Calendar 22 - The unspecified number of wise People

From our day-trip to Althorp again, the "Wise Men" from Church Brampton.  Top left appears to be Terry McDermott.  Did he suggest to the BVM that she "calm down, calm down" when she noticed that they'd brought gold, frankincense, myrrh but no Turkish Delight or toblerone?

Advent Calendar 20 - The Likl Baby Jesus

What a great day trip we had last summer, visiting the home and final resting place of that secular Saint, Diana, at Althorp.
In many ways, Diana was the ultimate Beaker Person - spiritual without being dogmatic, touchy-feely and yet still photogenic.  And on the way home, we called into the lovely (and positively loaded, judging by the houses) village of Church Brampton and had a look round St Botolph's.

Now we reckon this is Jesus being cuddled by some Biblical people.  And at a rough guess, we'd say - Father Christmas there on the right?  So we guess that must be Mrs Christmas on the left.

Advent Calendar 19 - Debunking the Myth

"When NASA hit the moon", they said, "the Gibbon fell out and landed in this tree.  He's hiding up in the top branches and that's why you can't see him.
So in a spirit of scientific enquiry....

(he wasn't).

Advent Calendar 18 - The Miracle Rose

Freak of nature, touched by God, or a simple genetic throwback to the parent?  All those were possible, but we still had trouble believing you could see Dale Winton's face in it.

Advent Calendar 17 - "Where's Drayton"?

That day we played "hide the Assistant".  Oh how we laughed.  But he managed to untie himself in the end.

Can you see the Assistant to the Executive Assistant Archdruid hidden in this photo?  If so, you're the kind of deluded person we need in Husborne Crawley...

Advent Calendar 14 - A little bling is a dangerous thing...

With the Little Children of Stonehenge dancing in the foreground.  We wondered where they'd gone...

Advent Calendar 12

Edith Weston and Dogbreth abandoned their attempt at recreating the Levellers' religiously-inspired communal approach to private land, after discovering that digging is hard work.

Advent Calendar 11 - Channelling a tadpole

Also at the "Spirit of the Wild" event, Egweld realised he was channelling the spirit of a tadpole.  We had to wait for him to metamorphose before we could get him away.

Advent Calendar 10 - Hnaef and the owl

During our "Spirit of the Wild" experience, Hnaef gets awfully mauled by an angry owl...

Advent Calendar 9 - Catastrophic failure

And it wasn't joking.  After putting up this message the computer nipped out and burned the Moot House down again.  And Microsoft wouldn't even discuss compensation.

Advent Calendar 8 - on a clear day you can see Marston Mortaine

A typically spiritual Husborne Crawley view.  If you look very closely, you can see the M1 in the distance, as well as the Amazon warehouse.

Advent Calendar 6 - The light blingeth in the darkness

Well done to Hnaef for finally getting some lights going on the Executive Assistant Archdruid's House.  If you look very carefully you can see Hnaef on his treadmill keeping the power flowing.

Advent Calendar 5 - The giant spider

Giant spider found eating large buildings in Bedford.  New Labour Government "unconcerned". No tricks were used in taking this photograph, nor has it been doctored in any way. Be very afraid, Bletchley, you're next...

Advent Calendar 3 - Shocking Spelling

Total mis-spelling of "Ridgmont" at Bedford railway station.  Frankly they deserve to have Anthea Turner and Bobby Davro in panto.
