Twelfth Night

Total confusion last night, I'm afraid. Crossed wires on the Somerset Mummers booking. Instead we got the Mummerset Plumbers, which wasn't the same at all.

They were kind enough to tell us what was wrong with the pipes, but unfortunately in a fake West-Country accent so strong we couldn't understand what they were saying. Then they all had to clear off. They're all auditioning for parts in "Midsummer Murders" and "Lark Rise".

On Twelfth Night

Yes, we celebrate Twelfth Night the traditional way around here. No taking the bling down early. It stays till Twelfth Night.

And we celebrate in the traditional way. We burn the Christmas Greenery on the last of the Yule Log.

But please, not the plastic Christmas tree. Not again.

Twelfth Night

I know it's traditional to burn the festive greenery on Twelfth Night, but please can you all be careful? That holly seems pretty dry, and the flames were shooting out earlier. And I don't want to see anyone else trying to get the tree on the fire. It's just too big. And if it did catch - well, it's a new Moot House. Let's keep it for a bit longer this time.

Also, can you note that it's only the everygreens that are supposed to be burnt - mistletoe, holly, pine boughs etc. There were bits of glass all over the place after Algai threw the fairy lights on. It was even worse that she left them plugged in.
