The Conspiracy Theorists Go Over the Edge

This whole Conspiracy Theorist Pilgrimage Weekend idea has gone horribly wrong. We thought it would be nice - get them all in one place at the same time Lots of cross-fertilisation of ideas in the bar. Maybe we'd get some new conspiracy theories, I thought. We only have the Moon Gibbon Folk here and I'd like to have a decent, convincing theory we  could call our own.

But we were very explicit about the dangers around our Community. We told them at the Orientation session that the far end of the Long Meadow was out of bounds. Made it quite clear that the sign saying "Dim Mynediad" was not a joke*.

So imagine my annoyance when the Flat Earthers went through the gate at the far end of the field. And fell straight off the edge of the world. You'd have thought they of all people would have known to keep an eye out. They'd have known it was around somewhere, surely?

Anyway, the good news is, we got payment up front.

*We use Welsh for all Beaker signage. We assume it's nearer to the original Beaker than anything else. Although we did have that slight problem when we mistranslated "Beware of the Giant Frog" as "Look at the Enormous Dress". Very messy, that.

Want a good laugh? Want to laugh at the church? Want to be secretly suspicious that the author has been sitting in your church committee meetings taking notes? Then Writes of the Church: Gripes and grumbles of people in the pews is probably the book for you.

From Amazon, Sarum Bookshop, The Bible Readers Fellowship and other good Christian bookshops. An excellent book for your churchgoing friends, relatives or vicar. By the creator of the Beaker Folk.

  1. brilliant!

true story - when I was about four years old, there was a farm called 'North End Farm' at the end of a dirt track. We would walk up there, I'd look across the huge, flat filed, and be convined it was the northern edge of the world... if only I'd know that actually the edge was elsehwere :D :D :D

  2. I think that the conspiracy theories that are abundant in the Newspapers, particularly over #Brexit are probably true(ish). Plainly a group of Remoaners have conspired to wreck the Hard #Brexit favoured by the UKIPPERS of this world and those nefarious Tories who are leading that surge towards it. Mr Rees-Mogg for one is a prime suspect, along with Borish Johnson and Lord Adonis. Mr Adonis who is not particularly hirsute, is protesting so loudly, that he is giving the Remoaners a bad name. So my theory of a secret conspiracy with the Hard Brexiters seems to be justified. As for Mr Corbyn, whose U-Turn on #Brexit equals those of Maggie Thatcher - he's another associate member of the Secret cosnpiracy, making noises in public, and working silently to wreck a soft landing.

As for Mr Putin, its obvious that he wants the worst for Europe and anything connected with NATO, who are prownling around his borders, in a secret conspiracy to gobble up the Soviet Union (Sorry, Russia). As he denies everything just a bit too hard - his cry of "I know nothing" belies the truth.
