The Beaker Course

We're putting out a poster campaign to advertise the new "Beaker Course".  This is an exciting new development in Beaker mission.  We get nice, middle class people together, give them a good lunch, and then it's up to them what they believe - we won't judge.  We just like people to feel good, and ideally make a donation.

  1. Dear Archdruid,

I can see that the routinization of charisma that Max Weber famously described as a characteristic of a particular phase in the sociology of religious movements has now almost fully shown itself in the Beaker Community. Great stuff.

Given that druidic education is now truly up and coming in your community, I would like to offer my services as an external educational consultant to set up a degree course for the Beaker community: modular, of course, so easy exit points with certificates and diplomas would be available. With the right sort of university affiliation (which I could facilitate) you could soon offer a Certificate / Diploma / FdA / BA in Beaker Studies. Fully bureaucratic accompaniments thrown in free of charge.

    HEFCE funding might be available!

Sounds exciting? It could all be yours - my fees are reasonable.

    Yours in hope,

  2. And another thing: you are not marketing yourself enough. Have a look at the website of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster:

Inspiring stuff, don't you think? So: where's the Beaker Store? Where's the printed copy of the "Beaker Booke of Commone Prayer" (easily self-published through reputable publisher, i.e. lulu.com)?

As you can see: you need a management consultant. Give me a ring: the first hour is free of charge.

    In hope,

  3. I would like to thank my esteemed former druidic instructor for his kind offer to remove the community of much-needed tithes. However can ask for clarification - were you thinking of accrediting a Beaker Course through A Risible University, as previously mentioned, or perhaps from somewhere scarily Celtic like Aberyswyth?

  4. I agree with Holger, the Beaker Shop needs to move beyond selling Hi Viz and doilies... have you thought of an on-line store? Perhaps through Amazon????

As for the suggestions regarding Certificate / Diploma / FdA / BA in Beaker Studies, surely this is too limited.

Would our esteemed ex-druidic instructor consider offering stand alone modules/ imtensive courses. I am sure that offered along with a week of genuine Beaker living this could not only expand knowledge about Beaker practices but alos provide a good source of income for the community which would more than cover the instructors fees.
