A Break with Samhain Tradition

There's nothing like a well-celebrated Samhain. Especially the chickens in the Wicker Man. I hasten to add, to calm the most mimsy of hearts, that these had been purchased, frozen, from Waitrose. And, to calm the most Health and Safety-minded of hearts, we defrosted them before cooking. There's nothing quite flame-grills a chicken like being placed within the torso of a Wicker Man.

Still, I have to ask myself - just how traditional was it? In particular, I'm pretty sure the Ancient Beaker Folk didn't know about peri-peri sauce.
