Feast of Fretting Over Whom We Might be Offending

Today is the year's first Feast of Fretting Over Whom we Might be Offending. When we want to celebrate something, but worry we might offend people. And just end up digging ourselves into bigger holes. Like Burton's prayer last Mothering Sunday for "all the men who can't be mothers and wouldn't want to be". Because he didn't want to leave anyone out.

So today we're celebrating Ss Cyril and Methodius. Who, by inventing a script in which to write Slavic languages, became the patron saints of American political resignations.
