Celebration of the Nativity of Paul Simon and Margaret Thatcher and of the Rescue of the Miners

It somehow seems ironic, that a group of miners are restored to a normal life, on the day that Margaret Thatcher turns 85.

I would dwell more on this but, to prevent further damage to Holger's blood pressure, I won't mention this morning's "85 glorious years" service, together with the life-size replica "iron lady". Suffice it to say that I won't be using a handbag as a thurible again. And "Privatisation" is a dreadfully awkward mantra.

We were able to use the celebration of Paul Simon's birthday to great effect this afternoon, though. "Amazing Graceland" was quite a success, although Rayworth sprained his wrist playing the guitar that far up the neck. And "I am a Rock (of Ages)" was quite nice as well. Although they really shouldn't have put Joy in that bubble. It was misheard in the first place and we had to get her out quick when she went blue.
