An unsuitable job for a Christian?
Announced by
Archdruid Eileen
Nicely put from Simon Robinson here on suitable jobs for a Christian. If all Christians did only "Christian" jobs such as nursing, teaching and the Law, and if we lived in a universally Christian country, we'd all starve to death. Although, of course, we'd do so with very wholesome teaching, and plenty of people to wipe our brows.

Well, I was a very successful profiteer before ordination. People needed flooring and I needed commission! Seemple
ReplyDeleteDavid, "profiteer" is a very strong word. And that greatest of Beaker saints, Norman Clegg of Holmfirth, was himself a lino salesman. And people need flooring. For without something to stand on, wouldn't we all fall to the centre of the earth?
ReplyDeleteMaybe so, Arch-D, but the Reverend Father used to sell carpets to people who didn't even have floors. Known for it, he was. No scruples, you see!
ReplyDeleteHe's better now.
A bit.
