Gray Day

Some historical events for March 16

597 BC - Capture of Jerusalem by the Babylonians
1190 - Massacre of Jews in York
1968 - My Lai massacre
1988 - Halabja poison gas attack

A day that shows humans up for what we are at our worse. Xenophobic, vicious, power-grabbing, murderous.

We will spend the morning in quiet contemplation. It seems about right.

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgement."

  1. No all bad though, on this day in 1995 the Mississippi House of Representatives formally abolished slavery, hold on 1995!!, scrub that, let's go with your first thought.

  2. Just for the record, it is my birthday today. Yet another pestilence to add to your list.
